The Guelaguetza Auditorium stands as one of Oaxaca’s most emblematic venues. 

Situated atop Cerro del Fortín in the state capital, it annually hosts the grandest celebration of Oaxacan culture: La Guelaguetza. Comprising four adaptable sections, this venue serves as the stage for concerts, theatrical performances, sporting events, and significant gatherings. Its capacity exceeding 11,000 attendees, distinctive architecture, panoramic vistas, and deep-rooted connection to Oaxacan traditions have positioned it, according to specialized media, as one of the nation’s most significant scenic spaces. 

Opened in 1974, the auditorium is distinguished by its semicircular design, reminiscent of the grandeur of classical theaters. Its stands, strategically positioned in three quarters of the stage, provide an immersive experience that fosters a profound connection between the audience and each presentation. An iconic venue that honors the cultural identity of Oaxaca.
